The beauty of homeobotanicals
A new delivery of homeobotanicals arrived last week!
I’ve been using these wonderful botanical plant remedies for over five years, and my love and respect for them increases each year.
Homeobotanicals are organic and wild-crafted homeopathically prepared botanicals.
They were first developed and extensively tested by a team of Homeopaths in Auckland, New Zealand. [Link]
Homeobotanicals are liquid remedies, diluted with a small amount of organic alcohol (or vegetable glycerine) as a preservative.
The drops taste pleasant and are taken three to five times daily.
Each bottle lasts for a month.
They gently detoxify, energise, balance and calm.
Everyone loves them, including me!
Here are a few of my favourite blends.
Immune
HB Immune is a proven immuno-stimulant tonic.
Ingredients: Astralagus, Baptisia, Echinacea, Golden Seal, Licorice, Olive Leaf, Red Sage, and Thyme
Immune enhances the production of lymphocytes and stimulates T-cell activity and can be used internally and externally whenever antiseptic and antimicrobial treatment is needed.
I find Immune valuable as part of a treatment plan for helping to clear skin prone to acne. [Related post]
Female
HB Female addresses menstrual irregularities and pain.
Ingredients: Black Cohosh, Blue Cohosh, Chaste Tree, Cramp Bark, Licorice, Motherwort, Pasque Flower, Shepherds Purse, Squaw Vine and Wild Yam
Homeobotanical Female supports the endocrine system and balances periods. Herbs are traditionally used to relieve menstrual and premenstrual symptoms, including pain. It is gently restorative and balancing after miscarriage. [Related post]
I find Female helpful for restoring balanced periods after hormonal birth control.
Female +
HB Female + is especially suitable for symptoms of peri-menopause.
It contains the same herbs as the Female blend, with the addition of Peony and Dong Quai.
Peony acts on the balance between the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the ovaries and helps the whole range of female hormones. [Link to pharmacology]
Dong Quai is a traditional Chinese herb that helps to regular oestrogen, which can be too high or too low during the menopause transition.
When treating women with perimenopause symptoms such as hot flushes and mood swings, I make a personalised blend that includes Female + along with support for the liver and adrenals.
Zest
HB Zest is a gentle restorative for emotional and adrenal exhaustion due to stress.
Ingredients: Cayenne, Damiana, Ginger, Kola Nut, Korean Ginseng, Licorice, Ashwagandha
Zest rejuvenates the whole body, including digestion, circulation, hormones, stamina, memory and libido.
I love to include Zest as a general tonic as it has the best botanicals for re-energising tired people!
Gastro-intestinal
HB Gastro-intestinal supports liver, bowel and colon function, by promoting daily bowel movements and general detoxification.
Ingredients: Buckthorn, Butternut, Cascara, Dandelion, Licorice, Rhubard, Senna
Gut health is essential for immunity, hormonal balance and is also linked to mental and emotional well-being.
Gastro-intestinal is my go-to blend to give gentle relief for constipation as it restores normal digestive processes. I also recommend lots of fresh and raw vegetables for good nutrition, and also to increase fibre.
